Garrett

Welkin

Cast
Daisuke Namikawa
Cast Comments
The hero of Hemeria, promoted to Commander of the Royal Order at a young age.

The reason behind his ascension to Commander at such a young age is due to the large scale vampire assault he faced in his youth.
Many of his fellow trainees lost their lives, but he was the sole survivor,
saving the lives of many citizens, and hailed as a hero.

He is the public's brightest hope against their fear of vampires.

Although he has a serious and stubborn side, and claims to hate vampire hunters, he appears before the heroine as the commander of the hunt party.

Please share your thoughts with us now that you've finished recording.
I'm relieved that everything's all wrapped up successfully. I'd heard that this game puts a particular emphasis on the story, so after I finished recording, it really felt like one big story had come to a solid conclusion. I feel like that's the sort of game this is.
Please tell us about the character you played, along with your first impression of them, any similarities between you, their best qualities, and things you kept in mind while acting.
Garrett himself comes across as quite strict, thanks to the position he's in and his sense of responsibility, but on the inside he's still human, with a human heart, and I wanted to do my best to balance these two sides of him. Garrett is someone who struggles to break out of his shell, but by going through all sorts of experiences, he ends up growing as a person alongside his teammates. I think the lines that express this the most are "I'm no hero. Nor do I think I can accomplish everything on my own" and "It's exactly because of my comrades that I'm able to make up my mind." I tried my best to express his unshakeable dignity from start to finish, while trying to show his softer side as well. That's what I'm hoping will be seen as some of his appealing qualities.
Could you tell us about any scenes in particular which left a lasting impression on you?
The story hops back and forth, so it makes you wonder what would happen if you chose a different option instead, and every branch of the story adds to its lore. There are a lot of important parts, so I feel like players will find it rewarding as they progress.
Also, since you act as a team, I think players might enjoy the sense of camaraderie. Speaking of character-focused scenes, there's one scene where Garrett and the heroine share a parfait. From how he usually acts, you wouldn't really associate him with parfaits, so I hope everyone will do their best to reach the scene where his walls of steel begin to crumble bit by bit in the latter half of the story.
Finally, please leave a message for the fans who are looking forward to the game's release.
I found the heroine to be both adorable and a very good person, and I think the story truly conveys the tagline that "Humans are fragile, fickle - and beautiful," from every angle.
While I hope players enjoy the characters, I believe if you immerse yourself in the story as a whole, you'll naturally come to love the characters as well. I hope everyone can dive head first into the world of the Red Bell's Lament.
